Permit to properly introduce King Luca, the ‘Ashuabi’ crooner


Wonderkid King Luca who hails from Nso in the North West Region of Cameroon is a highly gifted musician with a very rich, soulful and unique vocal timbre. 


His lyrical prowess, Originality and Delivery Quality gives him the potential to be able to make an impact and create a legacy for himself at world class level. 


Sah Mohammad Umaru is 21 years old and was raised in a muslim household in Kumbo as he grew up singing and interpreting the Quran and living according to the values of Islam, He will later be exposed to Christianity by his mother’s side of the family which also contributed in his moral upbringing. This melange of social and cultural values enhanced his artistic and creative abilities while instilling a rich moral and cultural identity in him. 


He will be with Akumba Media Group for the next 7 years as he develops  and rides into his prime. He performs with the stage Name KING LUCA, which is also a character he will gracefully embody. He has the DNA of Akumba Music, which is raw Talent, Originality, Uniqueness and the sheer will to create a Legacy. Akumba music reassures the general public that the future of Cameroon’s Urban Music just got even more secured.


Akumba Music first heard this Wonderkid earlier this year 2024 when they launched an open verse challenge for their Lead Artist’s song (Elisha K - Joana). This young man dropped a jaw dropping verse that left Akumba music team shocked and scrambling and they immediately went on a manhunt for him. He ate up the bars, toyed with the rhythm seamlessly and his lyrical delivery matched the standard of the song note for note. In fact, His verse was so strong that Akumba Music immediately used it to make a remix for the song Joana and then added the remix to Elisha K’s  EP - Days Of Elisha Epistle 2.  


Luckily, they were able to track him down after a long search. Apparently, He’d been offline and briefly away from the music scene because he was in school studying nursing in Bamenda. Akumba Music is proud to be able to sign and bring him home to Akumba Music where legends are made and legacies are created.

Against the odds 2pac

 "Against All Odds" is a song by 2Pac (under the name Makaveli), released as the 12th and final track from his album, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (1996). It samples Cameo's "Skin I'm In". A prominent track that revealed the West-East coast rivalry at the time, 2Pac takes shots at several people, including Dr. Dre, Mobb Deep, Puff Daddy, Jimmy Henchman, Stretch, and Nas. Producer Hurt-M-Badd recalled that 2Pac asked for "a war song," and an hour later upon hearing the beat, requested the bassline from Cameo's "Skin I'm In". 2Pac brought the Outlawz in to the studio and created the hook.
